Hi today I will be blogging about  the fall of the Berlin wall demonstrated democracy.
The wall between East and West Germany symbolized a lack of freedom under communism. It also symbolized the inner conflict of Germany and the division of free and democratic. On November 9, 1989, as the Cold War began to thaw across Eastern Europe, the spokesman for East Berlin's Communist Party announced a change in his city's relations with the West. Starting at midnight that day, he said, citizens of the GDR were free to cross the country's borders.    http://adst.org/2013/11/the-fall-of-the-berlin-wall-november-9-1989/      link

Democracy in relation to the Gettysburg Address

I will be writing today about the Gettysburg address and how it changed Americas view on democracy. I used this article. The speech talked about how to keep democracy alive. The phrase " Government of the people , by the people , for the people , shall not perish." Is a very powerful statement indicating that we as a nation should try to keep democracy alive. He was fighting to keep the union together to have a more united government.
