Colonies

Hi this is Jason. As  you remember from  my previous topic I chose democracy. Some had more democratic forms of government, like town hall meetings (I think already mentioned), like in New England. But democracy as we know if did not exist. Of course women could not vote, even free Blacks could not vote. In many places only landowners, nobody who rented or anything like that could vote. Only certain religious groups could vote in some colonies, or others were excluded. Catholics could not vote in some colonies, but ruled in Maryland. I'm not sure if some groups like the Quakers took part in politics, or at least until they got involved in the slavery issue.
